Frequently Asked Questions

Have Any Questions? Take a Look Here.

How much in retirement savings do I need to work with you?

We have no financial minimum. Our services are flexible enough to help a young entrepreneur in their early 20s, someone who is a decade or more into retirement—and everyone in between.

What happens during our first appointment?

We’ll spend some time determining your goals and objectives so we can provide the best advice and guidance when we meet for our second appointment.

What should I bring to my initial meeting?

We encourage you to bring account statements for any funds you may need help with.

What if I already work with an advisor or financial professional, why should I work with you?

Our experience, our approach to financial planning, and our relationship-management approach differentiate us from others. Also, we believe it’s important to have more than one perspective. You can never have too much information, which is why we encourage you to get a second opinion to ensure your current financial plan is sound.

What are the fees to work with you?

Our fees are dependent upon the level and type of service provided. For example, for assets under management, we charge a 1.15% annual fee. For life insurance, annuity, and long-term care solutions, we do not charge a fee.

Do you have access to other resources?

We’ve built strong relationships with trust officers, estate planning attorneys, and Certified Public Accountants who we regularly refer people to for additional services.

If I’m not happy with my current advisor, is there a way to transfer or move my money without having to contact him or her?

There is. We have a form we recommend sending to your advisor if you choose to go in a different direction. We know it can be an awkward conversation and we’ll help with the process.

How often do you meet with clients?

That’s entirely up to you!

What education or professional designations do you have?

Dean has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and earned his Series 63, Series 65, and is a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF)

Curt has Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration, Life & Health License

What do you charge for meetings?

We do not charge for meetings. We view that as a part of our service commitment to you.

What types of people would benefit from meeting with you?

We work with small business owners, farmers, pre-retirees, retirees, and young entrepreneurs.

Where are you located?

Our office is located at 556 Third Street in Ayden, NC. However, we do travel to meet with clients in their homes, workplace, or any place of their choosing. We also meet virtually via Go To Meeting.
